- According to China Business News, China Mobile has kicked off the second-round TD-SCDMA equipment bid earlier than previously reported and is likely to announce the results in March or April 2008. According to the same source, the overall scale of the bid is expected to quadruple that in the first round and reach around 300,000 units, with an estimated value of over three billion RMB (US$420.1 million; US$1=7.1 RMB). The first-round bid, which ended in January 2008, purchased a total of 60,000 mobile phones and 15,000 data cards. The first batch of deliverables is slated for delivery by March 2008.

- Following the first batch of 3G access licenses - won by six telecom operators including ZTE, Hisense, LG, Samsung, Lenovo, and New Postcom - China's MII (Ministry of Information Industry) has issued the second batch of access licenses to more vendors. These vendors include Holley Communications, Yulong, Huawei, and Nanjing Panda Electronics, China Business News reported.
